VITICULTURE
At Château des Annereaux, viticulture is far more than a craft — it is a commitment. Since obtaining organic certification in 2010, we have chosen to cultivate our vines with full respect for nature and for the delicate balance of our terroir. Inspired by the principles of agroecology, our approach seeks to preserve soil health, encourage biodiversity, and produce grapes of the highest quality.
To enrich our ecosystem, we have planted 110 fruit trees and 3 kilometers of hedgerows, creating ecological corridors around our vineyards. We have also installed 140 nesting boxes for bats and tits, both essential allies in the natural regulation of insects. Cover crops between the rows help limit erosion, improve soil structure, and support long-term vitality.
We also work closely with Simonit & Sirch, specialists in gentle pruning, to strengthen the health and longevity of our vines. Their method respects the natural physiology of the plant, reduces trunk disease, and promotes consistent, high-quality production — a key element of our broader commitment to sustainability.
Our efforts were recognized in 2023 when Château des Annereaux became the first wine estate in Bordeaux to achieve B Corp certification. This distinction reflects our desire to unite viticultural excellence, environmental responsibility, and positive social impact. It is part of a wider vision that places biodiversity preservation, carbon footprint reduction (including through the installation of solar panels), and ethical business practices at the heart of our mission.
At Château des Annereaux, every decision — from winter pruning to harvest — is guided by careful observation and an adaptation to the character of each vintage. Our aim is to craft wines that are elegant, balanced, and faithful to their terroir, while building a sustainable future for generations to come.
This deep commitment to a viticulture that respects both nature and people is central to our identity — and the promise we make to our land.
